Step inside the world of frozen mannequins, smashing crockery, blinking lights, black African Mary painted using elephant dung, formaldehyde animals like cows and calves, an unmade dirty bed etc. Do you call it Art or is it just sensationalism? Chris Ofili: The Holy Virgin Mary, a depiction (portrait) of the Virgin Mary, depicted a black African Mary surrounded by images from close-ups of female genitalia cut from pornographic magazines, and elephant dung. Damien Hirst: Mother and Child, Divided used Steel, GRP composites, glass, silicone sealants, cow, calf, formaldehyde solution) Tracey Emin: exhibited My Bed — an installation, consisting of her own unmade dirty bed with used condoms and blood-stained underwear. These are all artists, who are winners of the most prestigious-Turner Art Award.
turner would have been turning in his grave if he were to know with which his name is being lent to in the name of art!
it's decay and sensationalism in my book .....at worst a fad with a devil may care attitude.
" life is not measured by the amount of breaths that we take but by the moments that take our breath away!"
Its a hype created by the shrewd marketeers (gallery owners). Promoting an artist is their objective for mutual commercial exploits and then the art takes a backstage and everything and anything making sense or not is pushed as a brilliant depiction of art to create a commercial value, i wonder how does a artist explain such creations when asked for except for cooking some imaginary illussions.
Personally I have tried to talk about the bed, the chopped up cow (I have actually seen it!) and the cow dung Mary. I haven't heard anyone use exactly these words but no one seems to be able to explain it to me, or maybe I can't understand it. Maybe its a mental block on my part but I really think, its time we began to call the Emperor naked if he is really strutting around without clothes, maybe with a disclaimer 'Maybe I just didn't get it' or some such. Its not to hurt the artist - but frankly an unmade bed is an unmade bed and a chopped up cow is gross and Im still undecided about the cow dung Mary (Im still looking into it) since I quite like his other works.
you can shock a few people some time and not all the people all the time to happily loosen their purse strings for the sake of speculative sensationalism ............ but bored millionaires are a class apart !
they are used to these gross middle-class noises and lack of understanding of AVANT-GARDE CUTTING EDGE ART .......
WHICH IS SO REFRESHING !
this utter non-sense and gimmickry being abetted by well known czars and czarinas of art has to stop !
as for me I DON'T DANCE WITH DUCHESS'ES AND THEY STAY AWAY FROM ME!

Yess I call all this art. Art can be an experience, it can be sharing of experience, sharing of a frame of mind; can be sharing of a situation. can be sharing of atmosphere Its art because it evoke our sense (any kind of).
Art is an intellectual activity, a sustained inquiry about the world around you. Artists are fluent in visual languages of communicating and conveying these visions to the viewer. It is a sustainable commitment between creator of Art and spectator…
And displaying an unmade bed with dirty paraphernalia strewn around it, is totally meaningless
in my opinion , this is not even sensational. It is grotesque. I have seen art pieces inspired from punk , goth styles, Dark Art as well But atleast they preserve the aesthetics.
this is just fucking bed....thats it...
its not sensetional or creative..
this all are an art bussines..to fuck the real creative sorcess..in the name of artistic fridom...so enjoy this...if this people fuck the turner who are you and me...!!!
