Is this an article for research purpose? Though I am interested in the topic, I am not an expert or anywhere close to it. I can forward any information I find that might be relevant.
I was at the Roja Muthiah Research Library in Chennai and they seem to have a number of books on various subjects that are helpful for research. Their catalog can be found here: http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/e/su/southasia/rmrl.html
I have some books in Tamil about temple architecture. If you are interested, I can send the information to you.
