Profile Information

About Me
Born in 1967, Junagadh district of Gujarat, Bhavin Shah was a businessman, until he became a full-time art. So taken in was he by his passion of becoming a renowned painter- his childhood dream -- that he left the family owned business to pursue this passion. He had started to draw pictures at the age of twelve. That gives him almost 25 years of delightful experience with paintbrush.

He has not taken any formal training in painting, but his paintings are of par excellence. His paintings include meditative touch. He has developed skill of painting by his own way, without taking any guidance from any master in the subject of art.

He is multitalented man with interest in poetry, philosophy, astrology and spirituality.

He paints mainly on different subjects relate, with strong esoteric message, deep philosophy and spirituality.

He has a unique quality in his painting, by watching it one can lead to spiritual awakening.

“My spiritual paintings are usually abstract paintings these paintings are executed with a great deal of freedom and evolve on the canvas from a simple thought into an image with few layers of complexity and pattern. I don’t have to do anything but feel good about the painting, and the work stands on its own as a visual experience. My paintings are about people. The ideas behind them are as much a concept or a story as a composition. A well-formed impression of the story to be told can be more important than the composition of the painting itself. “

He has a unique ability of perceiving trait and imperfection in human behavior and making them part of his great pictorial plot on canvas. It’s often been noticed in his canvases that where his faces, body and gestures are devices of his mockery, it's the color, design and texture that gives his paintings the light and easy mood.

Bhavin Shah has forged his own style that does not take into account the prevailing style. He has earned a reputation of an artist whose works are thought provoking and filled with the conflicts, either those between men and women or those between human beings and their environment. An eye for detail and a keen sense of observation have served him well making his paintings true to life and unequalled for their representation of the various realism that he observes around him.

Bhavin has made the medium of oils his own achieving a brilliance and vibrancy that is outstanding. Using tones of fast colors, Bhavin Shah gives his canvases a gentle radiance.

Most of his works are philosophical, meaningful and multitalented in nature encompassing high sense of aesthetic values of art. The different shades of feelings and emotions, views and thoughts of artist are appearing by the quintessence and spontaneous flow of powerful symbols, meaningful colors and simple lines and forms. With the result, his work has been creative and thematic which is far away from merely craftsmanship in true sense.

"The basic concept of my work is life around us. Throughout my life, I have been an urbanite and have counter to anything that has happened - either political or cultural. But obviously, my paintings are my thoughts and I think through them. Painting to me has become a kind of a language."
However, of late, the artist in him has been unable to ignore the increasing isolation and barbarism of a worldly culture. As a result, his work is trace with reality. But, irrespective of his subject matter, Bhavin continues to remain a keen observer of the world around, translating his thought processes into abstract and semi-abstract paintings.
